New House HotelThe Grade 2 listed New House is a serene and romantic country pile, originally built by a wealthy Welsh industrialist, Thomas Lewis in the 1730s. New House is a country hotel located in the stunning Thornhill, just outside of Cardiff.
We love its extraordinary natural brightness, all year round, whatever the weather. The picture windows perfectly frame the secluded rural idyll and sweeping views out beyond the Cardiff cityscape across the sea to Devon. It quietly takes your breath away.
It’s a little oasis, just outside Cardiff with an easy trip into our vibrant capital if you fancy a stay that’s a little bit town and a little bit country. Matchday or lazy day, it’s the best of both worlds and we’ll make sure you’ll feel spoilt either way. Staying at the New House Country Hotel will allow you to indulge in the gorgeous views Thornhill has to offer, whilst only being a stone's throw away from Cardiff.
Penarth Pier PavillionPenarth Pier stands majestically looking out over the Severn estuary and is home to the iconic 1929 art deco styled refurbished Pavilion building.
The Pavilion offers exhibitions, regular film screenings by Snowcat and a full events schedule including live music. It is also a fabulous wedding venue.
The Big Fresh Café at the Pavilion provides fantastic locally sourced food and drink whilst on the Pier you will find Chips and Ice Cream that can be enjoyed by the sea with picturesque views across the Bristol Channel.
If the pier holds special memories for you then you may be interested in the Penarth Pier plaque scheme.
Fishing is permitted at the end of the pier except during June, July and August. Permits are not required and there is no charge to fish on the pier.
Dogs are welcome on the beach from the beginning of Oct to the end of April each year.

ExchangeThe Coal Exchange Hotel is a historic, luxury hotel situated 450 yards from Cardiff Bay. The Grade II* listed heritage building stands tall today as an integral piece of Cardiff’s history. Renowned for helping to shape the city into the cosmopolitan Welsh capital, the building is treasured by locals and a must-see for those visiting the city. While its walls were once filled with the ambition and passion from local trade negotiators, its role as a shipping industry hub was left in the past, and the building was left to deteriorate. Bringing a breath of fresh air to Cardiff Bay and assigning the building a lasting role in the city, the Coal Exchange was born, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results. Rooms at the Coal Exchange are stylish and contemporary with a touch of elegance and tradition. Our spacious rooms feature everything from large flat-screen TVs to whirlpool baths and free WiFi.
